The Odessite Alexander Tsymbalyuk won the V International Helen Obraztsova young opera singers’ contest, which took place in Moscow on September, 10-18.

INFORMATION:  Helen Obraztsova young opera singers’ contest first took place in 1999.
This year, it was participated by 121 singers.
The average participants’ age is 25-27.
 
The first place went to Ukrainian Alexander Tsymbalyuk (bass) and Russian Olga Pudova (mezzo-soprano),
The second place went to Russian Anna Viktorova (mezzo) and Byelorussian Vladislav Sulinsky (baritone),
The third place went to Czech Jan Martynnik (bass) and Russian Catherine Sadovnikova (soprano).
