Feeders for birds and squirrels set in the parks and gardens of Odessa

Inhabitants of Odessa’s Suvorovskiy district set bird feeders and squirrels. District Administration invites Odessa citizens to support the initiative.

Odessa’s “Youth" Park could be safely referred to as the child created by the inhabitants of Suvorovskiy district. A generation of adults and children took part in the tree planting in the area and in its arrangement.

Twenty years ago, boulders have been brought here, and a special park art composition was created from them a kind of park art. Until now, this building of the landscape design amateurs remains a favorite destination for kids’ games and adults’ rest. Also, the citizens of Odessa enjoy the "Youth" park regulars - local birds and squirrels. However, with the coming of cold weather, the fluffy feathered inhabitants have hard times. But inhabitants of the area have shown concern and attention: feeders made by local craftsmen appeared in the park. They are very different: starting from professionally designed houses to elementary tools made from plastic containers.

"It's great that the feeders’ setting isn’t a result of an organized action, being merely the initiative of the citizens. We often doo repeat the phrase "Odessa is our home." This means that each and every of us has to worry about the order in it, and the welfare of all of its inhabitants. We hope that the enthusiasts who have installed the feeders would be supported by the other people in our area, who would be able to build such "bird tables" in other places, too, and, if possible, fill them with food, "- said Odessa’s Suvorovskiy District Administration Deputy Head Alexander Lyashenko.
