Odessa to be presented at the international touristic exhibition in Berlin

Odessa to be presented with a separate stand at the ITB international touristic exhibition to be held in Berlin in March.

On March 6 – 10, 2013, ITB international touristic exhibition will be taking place in Berlin (Germany). Odessa will be presented at the exhibition, too.

Odessa delegation will hold the city’s presentation at the All-Ukrainian stand. Besides, wine tourism in Odessa region, as well as the hotel and restaurant business will be presented, too. An interacting program dedicated to the cultural and national peculiarities of our city will be demonstrated.

Taking part in the exhibition will help promote Odessa at the international arena, increase its touristic attraction, increase the number of tourists visiting our city.

German International Cooperation Community (GIZ) has been rendering financial and informational support whilst preparing for the exhibition.

This is the third time Odessa takes part in the ITB exhibition, and after the visits, the number of guests from Germany and other European countries who choose to visit Odessa has been increasing gradually. As it was announced by the Municipal Touristic Information Center, over 1 000 000 tourists have visited Odessa in 2012, mostly coming from Russia, Germany, Italy, USA and France.

The International Tourism Bourse (ITB) is a unique track record, “made in Berlin”. From the first moderate beginnings with five participating countries in the context of an overseas-import trade show, worldwide success developed since 1966. Exhibition space grew from 580 square meters to 150,000 square meters today. The number of trade visitors rose to over 100,000 from initially 250. With a total of 180,000 visitors, who would like to see the offers of currently over 10,000 exhibitors, ITB Berlin today is a real show-piece of Messe Berlin – and has expanded towards Asia.

As a driving force in the travel industry, ITB Berlin gives important impulses to a continuously growing market. Exhibitor sales of about 6 billion Euro and an exhibitor satisfaction rate of 92 percent are evidence enough that supply and demand meet at the right place.

With more than 170,000 visitors, among these 108,000 trade visitors, and over 10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries ITB Berlin is the leading B2B-Platform of all tourism industry offers. In addition, the world’s largest tourism convention Market Trends & Innovations provides unique opportunities to benefit from the leading think tank of the global tourism industry. All levels of the value added chain are present: Tour operators, booking engines, destinations, airlines, and hotels right through to car rental companies.

Despite its size, ITB Berlin is clearly structured. ITB Berlin enjoys worldwide media recognition and offers comprehensive support for all marketing questions exhibitors might have. Finally, ITB Berlin is organized by an experienced exhibition management company, that successfully faces new aims and objectives again and again – namely the Messe Berlin.
