Odessa’s delegation visited the sister city of Lodz

On May 9 – 12, Odessa’s official delegation was visiting the Polish sister city on occasion of the 20th anniversary of sister city relations.

On May 9 – 12, 2013, Odessa’s official delegation was visiting the Polish sister city on occasion of the 20th anniversary of establishing sister city relations. The delegation was headed by Odessa City Council Culture and Tourism Dept Head Tatiana Markova. Besides, the delegation featured “Odessa Herald” Newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief Mikhail Deich, “High Music” Club Chairperson Natalia Ertnova, jazz man Yuri Kuznetsov, photo artist Pyotr Vovk and the artists of Odessa Academic Musical Comedy Theater.



Odessa’s delegation took part in retro Mercedeses parade, numerous meetings with Lodz Movie Studio’s specialists were held. In the network of the visit, an agreement was reached to hold a Jazz Festival participated by Odessa’s musicians in Poland. Besides, it is planned that the Polish movie director Jerzy Hoffman will visit Odessa to demonstrate his movies on our city’s Birthday.




During the visit, Pyotr Vovk’s photo exhibition took place in Lodz’s Cinema Art Museum. On top of that, “Benya Krik” movie was demonstrated, accompanied by the famous Odessa’s jazz performer Yuri Kuznetsov. The artists of Odessa Academic Musical Comedy Theater took part in “Violinist of the Roof” performance.


This summer, the united delegation of Odessa and Tallinn will head for the capital of Armenia, Yerevan.
