Turkish Navy representatives visited Odessa

Odessa welcomed the Turkish Navy’s ships with the Naval Academy cadets aboard.

In the beginning of the week, two ships of the Turkish Navy – “Sokullu Mehmet Paşa” and “Iskenderun” with the Turkish Naval Academy cadets, who are on their practice, aboard.

On May 20, 2013, the navy sailors visited Odessa’s City Hall where they have had an official meeting with the City Council Secretary Oleg Bryndak.

During the meeting, Mr. Bryndak emphasized, “These visits are carried out according to the plan of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey, and have become a good tradition for the both sides participating”.

“It’s joyful that lately, the fruitful relations is developing not only between the Ukrainian and Turkish states, but between our Navies, as well”, said the Commander Sinan Sürer, “This has a positive effect on our mutually beneficial cooperation, thanks to which the Black Sea became the sea of peace and friendship”.

All in all, approximately 900 Turkish sailors of different ranks have come to Odessa in the network of the visit.

It is scheduled that today, on May 24, the Turkish vessels will leave Odessa for Bulgarian Varna.
