On May 24 – August 24, Odessa will be presented at the International Flowers Festival in Tallinn (Estonia). Picture story.

In May 2013, with the assistance of Odessa City Council, Odessa was presented at the 5th Tallinn International Flower Festival, which is taking place on May 24 – August 24 in Odessa’s Partner City Tallinn (Estonia).



The fifth garden design festival takes place in Tallinn this summer with local and international landscape designers taking part. The festival will be conducted along the Medieval town walls in perfectly picturesque Tower's Square (Tornide väljak).
The themes of this year’s festival – "Garden as work of art" and "Healing gardens" – promise to provide beauty enjoyed by visitors that appreciate the traditional and experimental. The gardens will be on display for three months. Altogether 30 themed gardens will be planted, full of flowers, art and music.



Odessa’s garden is named “Sea Symphony”, and consists of 1 030 annual Lobelia and Petunia plants, aside from the city’s tourist symbol – the stylized anchor, since both Odessa and Tallinn are marine cities.



The Tallinn Flower Festival is designed to give participants the chance to design their own eye-catching gardens and to promote themselves in doing so. Visitors have the chance to discover the latest trends in garden art and follow the growth of the gardens from spring to autumn.



Nine international teams from Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Germany and Finland are present at this year’s festival.
