Black panther’s cubs born in Odessa Zoo

Odessa Zoo’s pets keep gladdening the employees and the visitors with newborn cubs.

There is another replenishment in Odessa Zoo. On August 9, 2013, a pair of porcupines gave birth to two cubs: a boy and a girl.

“The kids feel themselves alright, and the parents are taking their duties very responsibly. Odessa Zoo’s porcupines, that have the longest needles among all the mammals, reproduce regularly”, emphasized Odessa Zoo Director Igor Byelyakov.

Besides, one more inhabitant of Odessa’s Zoo had kids, too, - the black panther. “Black panther” is a name of dark-furred large cats’ species, which is not a separate kind, mostly being a leopard.

On August 9, black and spotty cubs were born. The Zoo’s workers haven’t yet defined the kids’ sex, because the young mother guards them reverently, not letting anyone near.
