New warmth records set in Odessa this winter

Weather-station, «Fall of temperature expected in Odessa in the end of the week».
This winter’s peculiarity is single days’ new warmth records having been set. The records of the years 1989 and 1955 were broken on January, 16 and 19, 2007.

According to Ukrainian Weather-station’s information, a fall of temperature is expected in Odessa city and region in the end of the week. This was announced by Black and Azov Seas Weather-Station engineer-forecaster Vladimir Khudoleyev.
But until then, Odessa citizens keep wondering at such a warm winter. On the whole, warm winters aren’t a rare thing for Odessa city and region. They repeat once for 7-8 years. During the last decade, such warm winters occurred in the years 1998, 2001 and 2005. This winter’s peculiarity is single days’ new warmth records having been set. So, the highest temperature (8 degrees above zero) has been set on January, 16, 1989, and it was the warmest for the last 62 years. But on January, 16, 2007, the temperature of 12.3 degrees above zero was registered – and so the previous record was broken. On January, 19, 2007, the temperature of 10.7 degrees above zero was registered – and so the record of the year 1955 was broken.
