Flydubai launches flights to Odessa

Flydubai is commencing operations to Odessa, with flights twice a week

Flydubai’s inaugural flight to Odessa touched down last week opening the first direct air link between Odessa and Dubai. Boeing 737-800 NG whith 189 passengers were greeted by flydubai’s Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith and Odessa City Mayor Aleksey A. Kostusev. The plane was welcomed with a water cannon salute. The crew and passengers were met by traditional ritual of bread-and-salt welcome.

"I think this flight`ll give us a lot – Odessa`ll be closer to Dubai. We know that the UAE has high business activity, and huge projects are carried out there. Today, we exchanged views on this matter with Mr. Ghaith Al Ghaith. He confirmed that businessmen from his country are willing to come here and develop the business, invest in our city", - said Aleksey Kostusev.

The company was officially set up in March 2008 by the Government of Dubai, forming the region's first low-cost airline. From the beginning, flydubai has been dedicated to making travel more affordable. The airline’s network covers countries in the Persian Gulf, Middle East, North Africa, Hindustan, Asia and Europe. With the addition of Odessa, the airline now operates to four destinations in Ukraine, including Kiev, Kharkiv and Donetsk
