Odessan traveler Teodor Rezvoy plans to cross the Indian Ocean on 7 meters long “Ukraine” oared boat this March.
«I’m going to start the travel in the end of March. But my project is at realization stage now since there is no money at the time being. It’s a pity, but Ocean Oarsmen Community can’t render me financial support. That’s why I’m searching for a sponsor, and I’m planning to address to Ukraine Youth and Sports Minister Victor Korzh with a request to support me. By the way, I’ve addressed to different state institutions earlier, but all I was given was a negative answer».
The oarsman announced that the journey may last for approximately two months. It will start near Australia and will end in the East of Africa.
Teodor Rezvoy emphasized that he’s planning to row across the Pacific Ocean after the Indian one. If this is fulfilled, the traveler could become the world first sportsman to conquer all of the oceans.
Information
Teodor Rezvoy was born in 1968 in Odessa. In 2001, he rowed across the Atlantic Ocean. In 2005, he tried to conquer the Indian Ocean, but rowed only 2000 km because of an injury. The journey was finished by his father Pavel Rezvoy. Teodor Rezvoy is the Honorary Sports Master of Ukraine, British Royal Geographic Community member, Odessa Marine Captains Association honorary member. At the time being, he’s the Ocean Oarsmen Community webmaster (London). He was honored with the following awards: III grade “For Courage” decoration; Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers’ diploma; “Golden Sunflower” Ukraine’s Green Party highest degree decoration; Odessa Regional State Administration Honorary golden decoration. He’s the nominee of “Odessite of the Year” municipal action.
