17 Afghanistan war veterans gained apartment warrants from Odessa Mayoralty

A meeting of war veterans with Odessa city deputy mayor Anatoly Vorokhayev dated for the 18th anniversary of Soviet contingent withdrawal from Afghanistan

In 2007, the mayoralty plans to deliver 35 apartments to the veterans having taken part in Afghanistan operations. 17 of them have already gained apartment warrants.
 
 A meeting of war veterans with Odessa city deputy mayor Anatoly Vorokhayev dated for the 18th anniversary of Soviet contingent withdrawal from Afghanistan took place in Odessa City Hall.
The meeting participants honored all victims of this war with a minute of silence.
“The wound every of you have gained at this war will never heal. We will do our best to support and protect you in your dark hours henceforth. This is assisted by the government’s cooperating with the “Afghanistan Veterans Union” social organization as well. Your children have already grown up, but not all of you are provided with apartments and everything a man needs for normal life. We will try to unite to solve the problems u have”, said Anatoly Vorokhayev.
Odessa city deputy mayor has also expressed his hoping on renewal of unity among the Afghanistan veterans organizations. In his opinion, this will intensify the present cooperation’s being fruitful.
Many of the veterans present were awarded with Odessa city mayor decorations.
Anatoly Vorokhayev wished the warriors strong health and long lives. “Wish we never experienced the events like Afghanistan ones. There is nothing worse than war in this world”.
The veterans present thanked the city mayor for attention and support, having stated the cooperation of Afghanistan veterans organization and Odessa municipality to be extremely fruitful. “A photo exhibition in the City Hall building is open for the first time since our organization having been founded. Odessa city mayor Eduard Gurvits issued a special decree to organize this exhibition. A scientific-practical conference has already been carried out”, emphasized the Odessa City Afghanistan Veterans Union Organization Boris Dubchak in his interview.
