Odessa bison Sultan received a gift from the Polish delegation

Within the Days of Poland in Odessa was held the celebration of “Bison’s day“

4 -6 September, in Odessa took place the Days of Poland. Odessites and guests of the city were able to get acquainted with the republic, its traditions and history, taste polish cuisine and listen to the best examples of polish music.

One of the highlights became the festival in Odessa Zoo, which is a home to many members of the fauna of Poland. However, the most famous of these, the largest animal in Europe and a symbol of Poland is bison. To this giant of the animal world was dedicated the feast, which took place in Odessa Zoo on September 6th.

Ecological holiday has visited the Acting Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Odessa, Mr. Piotr Siebeneichen. The diplomat warmly welcomed the guests and spoke about the holiday program of the Days of Poland in Odessa.

On the Bison’s Day guests of the Zoo were able to enjoy a lot of games, contests and gifts. The decoration of the celebration was performance of the chorus of "The Polish note", who performed the Polish folk songs.

In the end of the festive program, the guests went to congratulate the main hero of the occasion - bison Sultan. The bison got a present from foreign visitors – the hay from the Bialowieza Forest. Such a gift was made not by chance - it was the forest of Bialowieza Forest where bison live for centuries and became the brightest representatives of the local fauna.
