In Odessa 100 white doves soared into the sky in the memory of heroes of the Heavenly Hundred

On occasion of the Day of the Heavenly Hundred in Odessa laid flowers to Taras Shevchenko’s monument

By Decree of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko from 11.02.2015, the February 20 was set the Day of Heroes of Heavenly Hundred. The decree has been adopted in order to perpetuate the great human, civil and national courage and dedication, fortitude and resilience of citizens, who changed the course of Ukraine’s history, worthy commemoration of the Heroes of Heavenly Hundred who gave their lives during the Revolution of dignity from November 2013 - February 2014 defending the ideals of democracy, defending human rights and freedoms and the European future of Ukraine.

On this occasion on February 20, 2015, in Odessa was held the ceremony of laying flowers to Taras Shevchenko’s monument. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the Head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, the mayor of Odessa, Commander of the Naval Forces of Ukraine Vice-Admiral, deputies, heads of regional administrations, the heads of the city Department of Internal Affairs, representatives of the Armed Forces, the clergy, students and pupils of Odessa schools and the public.
The ceremony was traditionally accompanied by mourning fireworks.

The choir of the Odessa School of Art and Culture named after K.D. Dankevich performed the "Prayer for Ukraine", and Odessa schoolchildren released into the sky 100 white doves, symbolizing the souls of heroes of Heavenly Hundred.

After the ceremony everyone had an opportunity to visit the outdoor photographs exhibition of the events of the dignity Revolution.
