Delegation of Odessa doctors visited Poland, where they studied the experience of organization emergency medicine and disaster medicine. Picture story

By the invitation of the City Council of Odessa sister-city Lodz (Poland), the delegation of Odessa medical workers was in Poland on a working visit from 8 to 14 of June 2015.

The experts had unique opportunity to get acquainted not only with the experience of disaster medicine and health care institutions, but also with the system of emergency response and incidents with many casualties.

The great interest of delegation caused the work of emergency response center’s dispatcher service "112", the state medical rescue station SOR (helicopters) and private ambulance station Falck Medycyna Region Lodzki, which is a part of unified system of medical assistance to the province population.

During the visit, Odessa delegation met with Voivod of Lodz and vice president of Lodz. Municipality of sister city of Lodz gave a letter addressed to the Mayor of Odessa Gennadiy Trukhanov with confirmation of intent on the future cooperation and implementation of joint projects and an invitation to the Lodz Day celebration.

After the meeting were outlined the prospects of several joint projects between the cities of Odessa and Lodz including the creation of symmetric simulation-training centers for medical personnel and paramedics for the practical skills of emergency medical care in Odessa and Lodz.

Also were discussed the ways of cooperation with Falck Medycyna Region Lodzki specialists for training health personnel of emergency medical services in Odessa and Odessa region.
