The VI Odessa International Film Festival to be opened tomorrow

The VI Odessa International Film Festival will be opened on July 10. The opening ceremony will be held at the Odessa Academic Theatre of Musical Comedy

Tomorrow, on July 10, 2015, in Odessa will be opened the VI International Film Festival (OIFF). The opening ceremony of Odessa International Film Festival is scheduled for 19:00 in the Odessa Academic Theatre of Musical Comedy. The Film Festival will traditionally begin with a parade of guests on the red carpet at 18:00.

The festival will be held from 10 to 18 of July. This year 12 features from 17 countries (including co-productions) were selected for the OIFF International Competition. Many of the movies have already been awarded prizes at A-list Festivals. There are two debut films among them.

The Jury of the International Competition will be headed by the Cannes-winning film director, screenwriter and producer Jeanne Labrune (France). Other members of the Jury include: successful producer and a member of the European Film Academy Dariusz Jablonski (Poland), Berlinale-winning film director Srdjan Dragojevic (Serbia), and documentary filmmaker Sergiy Bukovsky (Ukraine).

The National Competition of shorts will screen 18 films by young Ukrainian filmmakers.
Out of 530 entries from 75 countries submitted to the 6th Odessa International Film Festival (10 - 18 July 2015) 12 films from the USA, Great Britain, Israel, Turkey, Russia, Colombia, Croatia, Iran, France, Denmark and Ukraine were selected to compete for the Grand Prix of Odessa IFF 2015 - Golden Duke - and other awards of the International Competition. The National Competition program includes 6 features and 18 shorts. Two Ukrainian films will participate both in the National and International competitions.
