More than 120 thousand people visited the VI Odessa International Film Festival. Picture story

On July 18, 2015 ended the VI Odessa International Film Festival. This year the audience of OIFF exceeded 120,000 viewers, which is 15 thousand more than the last year. Film enthusiasts watched 100 films from 34 countries during the eight-day festival. More than 300 volunteers and more than 800 accredited members of the press were involved in organization of the festival.

The closing ceremony of Odessa International Film Festival-2015 was held in Odessa Academic Theater of Musical Comedy. On the red carpet of the festival were the stars of the world cinema, representatives of creative elite, as well as prominent politicians and businessmen.

At the closing ceremony of the festival were announced the winners.
Eva Neymann’s Song of Songs was recognized the Best film of the National Competition. Richard Cook (Ireland), a member of the National Competition Jury, handed the Golden Duke figure and UAH 50,000 prize to the winner.

Eva Neumann also noted the International Jury of the competition program, calling it "Song of Songs" the best film of the international competition and awards a cash prize in the amount of 4 million euros. Eva Neymann’s Song of Songs also won the Jury’s Grand Prix of the International Competition for Best Film and received a monetary prize equivalent to EUR 4,000.

Jury of the National Competition awarded a special mention to Ostap Kostyuk, the director of a documentary Living Fire.

Deniz Gamze Ergüven was recognized as Best Director (EUR 2,000) for her debut Mustang. Best Actor (EUR 1,000) went to Israeli actress Tamar Alkan who played the lead part in The Man in the Wall.

Grand Prix of the 6th Odessa International Film Festival for Best Film in the International Competition program, determined by audience voting, went to Mustang by Deniz Gamze Ergüven. The director of the film received a statuette of Golden Duke and a prize of EUR 6,000.

It is already known that the VII Odessa International Film Festival will be held from 15 to 23 of July 2016.
