Children of internally displaced persons and ATO members will spend spring holidays in Germany

23 pupils from resettled and ATO members’ families who live in Odessa will take health improvement in the sister city of Regensburg

On March 28, 2016 a group of pupils of educational institutions of Odessa - the children from families of internally displaced persons and combatants in the anti-terrorist operation area - left for the city of Regensburg (Federal Republic of Germany) for healing and cultural activities.
The group consisted of 23 schoolchildren and 5 teachers accompanying them.

The trip is organized by the invitation of Lord Mayor of the sister city of Regensburg Mr. Joachim Wolbergs.
The group of pupils left Odessa on March 28 by train "Odessa-Uzhgorod". After arriving in the city of Chop the trip participants will continue their journey by bus "Lux" by the route: Hungary, Austria, Germany and then will arrive in the city of Regensburg. Children will stay here in a hotel.

In accordance with the program of health improvement made up by the German side, the young inhabitants of Odessa will participate in various cultural, sports and recreational activities.
There will be held interesting city tours by Regensburg, organized fascinating trips in the Bavarian Forest, a walk along the Waldwipfelweg in Sankt Englmar, a day trip at the football stadium "Allianz Arena" in Munich, a visit to amusement park "MovingGround ", Observatory, watching games of football club" Yang " at the "Continental Arena", a visit to professional Bouldering park (kind of climbing), the indoor water complex" Westbad "stalactite cave Schulerloch and the other activities for children.
It is also scheduled the meeting of children with the mayor of Regensburg Joachim Wolbergs.

The agreement on organization of recreational trips  to schoolchildren from families of internally displaced persons from the east of Ukraine and children of combatants in the ATO area living in Odessa - was reached during the meeting of Odessa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov with the Lord Mayor of Regensburg, Mr. Joachim Wolbergs. The meeting was held within the framework of the working visit of Odessa delegation headed by the mayor of Odessa in the sister city of Regensburg in July 2015 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the twinning.
