The mayor of Odessa has signed a tripartite Memorandum with Varna

During the visit to Bulgarian sister city of Varna the Mayor of Odessa Gennadiy Trukhanov signed a tripartite Memorandum of partnership to achieve the EU grant for carrying out the landslide control and shore protection

There will be the 25th anniversary of the signing of the sister city relations between Odessa and Varna in 2017 year.

 

      
From 24 to 26 of June 2016 the Mayor of Odessa Gennadiy Trukhanov was with a working visit in Bulgaria, where he met with the mayor of the sister city of Varna, Mr. Ivan Portnih and the governor of the region of Varna, Mr. Stoyan Pasev. During the meeting the sides discussed issues of cooperation in the sphere of education, culture and tourism.

According to the mayor of Odessa Gennadiy Trukhanov there was signed a tripartite Memorandum during a visit to Varna about intention of the sister city to take part in obtaining a grant from the European Union for carrying out the landslide control and shore protection.

"The European Union countries that have coastline are allocated enough funds for landslide control and shore protection. This year Bulgaria is going to get funding of 200 - 250 million Euros. According to the grant conditions, 60% of the funds will get the country which makes a request and 40% gets the partner. We signed a tripartite partnership agreement, to obtain co-financing for carrying out the landslide control and shore protection in Odessa ", - said Gennadiy Trukhanov.
